How to Install Palera1n Jailbreak on iOS 15 – iOS 16.7.11

Palera1n is a powerful jailbreak tool for iOS 15 – iOS 16.7.11 that supports tweaks and customization. The installation process has been improved over time and now works on macOS and Linux. Before starting, make sure your device is supported. ⚠️ On A10/A11 devices, you must disable the passcode before jailbreaking.

Install Palera1n on macOS

  1. Open Terminal.app.
  2. Run this command to download Palera1n and start the jailbreak:
sudo /bin/sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://static.palera.in/scripts/install.sh)"

Install Palera1n on Linux

  1. Open your terminal emulator. (If using Fish shell, switch to Bash first with bash).
  2. Run this command:
sudo /bin/sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://static.palera.in/scripts/install.sh)"
  1. Restart usbmuxd so Palera1n can detect your device:
sudo systemctl stop usbmuxd
sudo usbmuxd -f -p

How to Use Palera1n Jailbreak

  1. Connect your iPhone/iPad to your computer via USB.
  2. Open the terminal and type:
palera1n
  1. Your device will enter Recovery Mode.
  2. Press Enter to go into DFU Mode and follow the prompts.
  3. Palera1n will activate the checkm8 exploit and jailbreak your device.
  4. If stuck at Booting PongoOS…, stop the process with Ctrl + C (or Command + C on Mac), then rerun palera1n.
  5. Once booted, open the Palera1n Loader app on your iPhone and install your preferred package manager (e.g., Sileo).

How to Remove Palera1n Jailbreak

  1. Connect your jailbroken device to Mac/Linux.
  2. (Linux only) Restart usbmuxd:
sudo systemctl stop usbmuxd
sudo usbmuxd -f -p
  1. Run this command to remove Palera1n and revert to stock iOS:
palera1n --force-revert

👉 If you’re using rootful Palera1n, add -f at the end of the command.
Your iPhone will reboot into stock iOS, fully removing the jailbreak.

Palera1n Jailbreak Commands & Options

Palera1n comes with multiple subcommands and features. Some important ones include:

  • --version → Print version.
  • --force-revert → Remove jailbreak.
  • -E, --enter-recovery → Enter recovery mode.
  • -n, --exit-recovery → Exit recovery mode.
  • -I, --device-info → Print device info.
  • -s, --safe-mode → Enter safe mode.
  • -R, --reboot-device → Reboot iPhone normally.
  • -v, --debug-logging → Enable debug logging.

This version of Palera1n boots your device with AMFI patches, and during the first run, it:

  • Boots a ramdisk to dump onboard blobs.
  • Installs Sileo (package manager).
  • Installs Substitute (tweak injection system).
