UTM Emulator iOS 26 – Run Windows, macOS & Linux on iPhone & iPad

UTM Emulator for iOS 26

The UTM Emulator is a powerful system emulator and virtual machine host for iOS and macOS, built on QEMU. With UTM, you can run Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, and even macOS directly on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac — no jailbreak required.

Thanks to JIT (Just-In-Time) support, UTM delivers smooth and lag-free performance, letting your iOS device work like a real portable computer. Whether you want to try Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, or Linux, UTM makes it possible with ISO files.

How to Install UTM on iOS 26 (iPhone & iPad)

Step 1. Download the UTM IPA or the UTM App from the App Store.

👉 Tip: The App Store version works but runs slower. For better performance, use the UTM IPA via sideloading.

Step 2. Install the UTM IPA using AltStore, SideStore, Sideloadly, or any other sideloading method on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 3. Download the StikJIT IPA or StikDebug App. These apps make it simple to enable JIT (Just-In-Time) support directly on your device.

Step 4. Open StikJIT or StikDebug, connect it to your device, and select the UTM App.

Step 5. Inside UTM, tap the “+” button → Existing → Open. Then add a config file (for example, Windows XP config from the UTM Gallery).

Step 6. Add your ISO file. Tap the blue CD/DVD icon and browse to select the Windows ISO you downloaded.

Step 7. That’s it! 🎉 You can now run Windows, Linux, or other virtual machines smoothly on your iPhone or iPad with iOS 26.

FAQ

What is UTM?

UTM is a powerful app that lets you run other operating systems like Windows or Linux directly on your iPhone or iPad.
👉 Note: UTM does not run iOS on other systems — it only brings desktop operating systems to your iOS device at a usable speed.

Do I Need a Jailbreak?

  • iOS 17, iOS 18, and iOS 26: ✅ Works without jailbreak through sideloading.
  • iOS 14: 🔒 Requires jailbreak to run.

What is Sideloading?

Sideloading lets you install apps that are not available on the App Store.

  • Free Apple ID: you need to re-sign the app every 7 days.
  • Paid Apple Developer ID: apps last up to 1 year before re-signing.

How Does UTM Work?

UTM is built on QEMU, a system emulator. Since iOS devices don’t have hardware virtualization, UTM uses:

  • TCG Accelerator + JIT Compilation for smooth performance.
  • SPICE Client with Metal support for better graphics handling.

This allows UTM to run Windows, Linux, and other systems fairly smoothly on iOS.

What Are the Limitations?

  • No hardware virtualization on Apple A-series chips → performance won’t match a real PC.
  • No GPU virtualization → ❌ DirectX & OpenGL aren’t supported.
  • Result: Most modern PC games won’t run properly.

How Can You Contribute?

UTM is an open-source project, and contributions are welcome!

  • Developers can help improve QEMU backend and optimize performance.
  • Designers can help refine the UI and user experience.
