Originally, OTADisabler only worked on jailbroken devices, but the latest update has removed that limitation.

How to Block OTA Updates with a Block OTA Profile
Here’s a simple guide to using the tvOS 18 profile to stop OTA updates on your device. No jailbreak is needed, and it works on iOS 9 to iOS 18.
Steps to Install the Block OTA Profile:
Step 01. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad and tap the provided button.
Step 02. When prompted with “This website is trying to download a configuration profile,” tap Allow to proceed.
Step 03. Go to the Settings app, find the new Profile Downloaded section, and tap on it.
Step 04. Open the Install Profile screen for the downloaded TVOS 18 Beta Software Profile. It should be signed with an AppleCare certificate.
Step 05. Tap Install and enter your passcode if required.
Step 06. Confirm the installation by tapping Install again.
Restart your device when prompted to apply changes and disable iOS updates.
Verifying OTA Blocking:
After restarting, check if updates are disabled by opening Settings → General → Software Update. If it says “iOS is up to date,” the profile is successfully blocking updates.
How to Remove the iOS 18 tvOS Profile
If you want to enable updates again, follow these steps. Be cautious, as removing the profile may allow your device to update to newer firmware, potentially impacting jailbreak options.
Steps to Remove the Profile:
- Open the Settings app.
- Go to General → Storage & iCloud Usage → Manage Storage, then delete any OTA update files.
- Navigate to General → Profile & Device Management.
- Select the tvOS 18 Beta Software Profile.
- Tap Remove Profile and enter your passcode if needed.
- Confirm by tapping Remove again.
How to Block OTA Updates with OTADisabler for TrollStore
OTADisabler by @ichitaso is a tool for blocking OTA updates on iOS 14 to iOS 18+. It works exclusively with TrollStore. Other tools like Sideloadly, AltStore, or Esign won’t block OTA updates, so TrollStore is recommended.
Steps to Install OTADisabler via TrollStore:
Step 01. Install TrollStore by following the TrollStore 2 installation guide.
Step 02. Download the OTADisabler IPA file.
Step 03. Open TrollStore on your device.
Step 04. Import the OTADisabler IPA into TrollStore.
Step 05. Proceed with the installation.
Step 06. Open the Settings app and go to Privacy & Security.
Step 07. In the Security section, enable Developer Mode and restart your device.
Step 08. Connect your device to a PC or Mac to turn on Developer Mode.
Step 09. Launch OTADisabler from your Home Screen.
With OTADisabler installed, your device will block OTA updates, ensuring your firmware remains unchanged.
How To Install OTADisabler IPA with AltStore
Step 01. install AltStore on your iOS device.
Step 02. Download the OTADisabler IPA file.
Open the AltStore app on your device and go to the “My Apps” tab.
Step 03. Tap on the plus “+” icon at the top, then browse and select the OTADisabler IPA file that you downloaded.
Step 04. If it’s your first time using AltStore, you will be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. AltStore requires it to sign the app so it can be installed. We recommend you use a burner account.
Step 05. The app will begin to install and once completed, you can open it from your Home screen.
How to Install OTADisabler IPA with Sideloadly
Step 01. Download the latest version of Sideloadly for Windows or macOS and install it on your PC.
Step 02. Download the OTADisabler IPA file from this page and save it to your computer.
Step 03. Connect your iOS device to your computer using a USB cable.
Step 04. Open the Sideloadly app on your PC.
You may be prompted to install the Mail Plug-in. Click the “Yes” button to continue.
Enter your Apple ID email under the “Apple account” field.
Step 05. Drag and drop the OTADisabler IPA file into the IPA field shown on the left side of the interface. The field is represented by an IPA image.
Step 06. Click the “Start” button to begin the sideloading and installing the IPA.
When prompted, enter your Apple ID password. The tool uses your Apple ID to sideload the app. We recommend you use a burner account.
Step 07. Sideloadly will begin installing OTADisabler IPA on your iOS device.
Step 08. Once the app is installed, don’t open it yet. You first need to verify your Apple ID profile if it’s your first time using Sideloadly. To do it, go to Settings > General > Device Management. Tap on your Apple ID and press the Trust button. Tap on Trust again from the popup alert.
Step 09. Now go to the Home screen to open the installed app.
